Rebrand for Garden Museum

(Original wordmark from Garden Museum used)

The Garden Museum is the only museum dedicated to showing the development of gardening through time. The Garden Museum explores and celebrates British gardens' art, history and design and their place in our lives today.

Challenge: Accommodate the existing audience whilst reaching and appealing to a new, younger, target audience through my rebrand.

Touchpoint 1: Gardener’s Gold - I wanted to package this gold coin gift token in a plant pot so it would be ‘a pot of gold’ and the pot would be a gardener’s plant pot, linking it back to the Garden Museum. My other concept for the gift token was ‘Spending Seeds’ and each enlarged seed would equate to £1.

Touchpoint 2: Way-finding/signage - to help reinforce the brand’s new logo, I wanted the signage around the Museum to be in the shape of the plant labels from the logo.

Touchpoint 3: Gift wrapping/gift labels/price tags - I created price tags in the shape of the logo and gift wrapping options for customers when purchasing from the shop at the Museum.

15-Second Motion Video

For my video, I decided to do a hand drawn animation portraying nature through the frames. The video shows the key activities available at the Garden Museum and the plant label acts as an arrow, guiding you through the video.

Interchanging Logo

I created an interchanging logo to reflect the change in seasons and the constant growth and development of gardening. It helps to show the brand’s dynamic activities.

The plant label logo represents information/knowledge and they also mark the start of growth and the plant journey. The Garden Museum is exactly the same, acting as an educational centre and the start of people's journey into gardening.

The brand’s core colour is yellow as this represents joy, happiness, and the sun which provides warmth and energy to grow - everything the Garden Museum embodies. The brand’s other colours can be seen through the brand world/touchpoints.
